Thankfully, actor Kelsey Grammer, best as Frasier in the sitcoms "Cheers" and "Frasier," is still alive and well after his recent heart attack. He told Jay Leno on the Tonight Show, that he knew then he was dead from a heart attack. Kelsey Grammer told Jay Leno he was amused at the later news reports which made it sound like mild heart disease, while he knows the heart attack killed him.

Actually, at the time, his spokesman Stan Rosenfield said it was a mild heart attack, and sort of started the downplayed reporting. Kelsey Grammer said  "It felt like somebody was actually trying to . . . tear my chest apart with the jaws of life,"

 

Kelsey Grammer Said Work Stress Caused His Heart Failure

In an "Entertainment Tonight" interview, Kelsey Grammer, 53, said he felt chest pains while paddle-boarding with his wife in Hawaii, where they have a second home.  He said the heart attack was not actually mild at all and he nearly died because his heart stopped.  He said "they had to blast me twice and get me started all over again." Kelsey Grammer, told "People" work stress led to his heart attack.  He said pressure from his canceled sitcom "Back to You" contributed to his heart failure health problems. 

He said it was a very stressful time for him, and a surprise that his show was canceled." Grammer, told them "But you know, everything that doesn’t kill us – which it almost did – makes us stronger." When Asked if the health scare changed his lifestyle, Grammer said, "Oh, not a ton. Just watch your diet a little bit, take some pills." As far as exercising, he said he is taking it slow, and playing a lot of Wii. Hopefully, Kelsey Grammer is now paying close attention to warning signals like lowering his cholesterol level ldl if he has high cholesterol.
