Multiple Sclerosis, MS – A Central Nervous System Disease

Experts believe diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis  to be an autoimmune disease — one in which the body, through its immune system, launches a defensive attack against its own tissues. An unpredictable disease of the central nervous system, multiple sclerosis, MS, can range from relatively benign to somewhat disabling to devastating, as communication between the brain and other parts of the body is disrupted.

Let’s picture an army that is marching along, getting along, doing everything that an army should do and all is running smoothly in army land.  The army wears cute little coats that protect them from the elements, as well as help them move better.  Without warning, part of the army splits off from the other part of the army and . . .
